Cape Town Train Station

I wanted to document some sense of the change and energy that come with the challenge of hosting the World Cup. The railway authorities kindly granted me a permit to draw in the old station as it was being refurbished to make way for the impressive new station that will transport fans and last as a legacy to the World Cup. Over 2 days I draw hundreds of Capetonians going to work,  returning to the Townships, greeting friends and family, or simply waiting for a train.  I stand drawing next to the old weighing machine and the girl handing out leaflets for the fortune teller. This country has witnessed so much transformation and as I look at the faces of these people I try to imagine what the future holds for them and which direction SA will take.' Now is the time for ALL South Africans' proclaims the election poster.
