EXHIBITION 2007
Glitter and Grime
Venue: GxGallery 19 May -7 June 2007
In his fourth exhibition at Gx Gallery Ed Gray explores modern times in London in a deeper and more insightful way than in his previous three sell-out shows. For the last ten years Ed has found the raw material for his paintings of Londoner’s daily lives by wandering the London streets with a pencil and sketchbook in hand. His 2007 show will coincide with the publication of ‘Glitter and Grime’- the first book to document Ed’s work. New paintings and drawings at GX Gallery include boozers, brawlers and bobbies alongside city suits and preachers in an all-encompassing urban mix of 21st century London life that still manages a nod of gratitude to Hogarth.
