‘…buzzing with jazz and the glorious accidental choreography of crowds’ Robert Elms BBC London

‘…a life affirming raucous celebration of the indefatigable vitality of Londoners’ Spitalfields Life

Gray seeks out the spectacular in the ordinary with his sketchbook to create layered panoramas infused with London mythology and the grit of the urban experience. Inspired by his love of National Gallery Renaissance Adoration scenes these are celebratory hymns to the passing city as the familiar is replaced and remodelled. Gray’s paintings celebrate the multiplicity of life and unknowable lives lived within this shifting monochromatic modern metropolis.

Ed will be giving a free tour during the run of the show - enquiries and booking info@edgrayart.com

‘When we were simple and nai've
We wore our feelings on our sleeve
As we've grown jaded and corrupt
Our manner's guarded and abrupt
Oh, how we'd smile most readily
Whilst ploughing on unsteadily
Now frowns are etched upon our face
We can no longer stand the pace…

….Our laughter rang around the world
When we were happy boys and girls
As now we baulk and hesitate
Encumbrance comes to those who wait’
